It all started one year ago in May when we decided to endeavor into the discovery of what it means to get a breast cancer diagnosis and then the subsequent meaning we make and attachment to it on the road to recovery with all the ups and downs. Handling cancer is about so much more than “treating” the dis-ease in your body because it requires a deep-dive odyssey into the mystery of the messages to heal your whole life. It all began with a lump that was repeatedly missed by the diagnostic “machine” of modern medicine. The “lump” ultimately resulted in a quest for radical hope, heart, and healing for a whole new way of being in the world. Breast cancer can be a portal to your true power if you let it be a message of love and call to consciousness. It is a true 'call of the wild' because cancer is unpredictable and more about your life than the lump. Beyond intervention, surgery or otherwise, cancer is an invitation to take charge and lead in the treatment and transformation of your life. My life before, then, and after a date with the Doc on Valentine’s Day will never be the same.
