Aisha Ferrell


A native of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and proud graduate of Milton Hershey Boarding School. Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood/Exceptional Education. Post graduate degree in Christian Leadership.

She is the proud mother of two children, TJ age 14 and Brielle age 10. She prides herself on being the absolute best in raising them as a single mother and being an example to other single mothers she meets.

Aisha currently works for the Delaware Department of Education in the Office of Early Learning as the State Head Start Collaboration Director. She has served the Head Start/Early Head Start (Regional and Migrant), State-funded Head Start programs for the past 21 years. Serving as a center-based Education Specialist, State Education/Disabilities Coordinator, Head Start Fellow at the Office of Head Start (Class of 2008). She has worked for the District of Columbia as the State Head Start Collaboration Director, ECAP program director, and Program Manager for the Delaware Department of Education in the Office of Early Learning for the First Start Delaware Early Head Start-CCP program.

Aisha has a love for education and training of adult learners who support children and families. She has worked as an adjunct instructor for Delaware Technical Community College and Delaware State University.She believes quality programs must begin with staff who are empowered, supported and emotionally well. She is an Elder in the Lord’s church under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Mary L. Alexander D.D. and Spencer and Sheila.

Alexander of Life Point Family Worship Center. She has worked in ministry and outreach through her church for the past 25 years. She also believes in supporting and uplifting the community through her strong faith. For the past 20 years she has supported the community through outreach ministries such as helping the elderly, vacation bible school, activities to support the homeless, christian leadership and breast cancer awareness. As a recent breast cancer survivor, Aisha has used her faith and testimony to encourage not just those who are facing breast cancer, but those who are dealing with everyday life. Her philosophy is to go through whatever challenges you face with the help of the Lord and to do it with “JOY”.
